Sluggery Basics covers best practices in the selection, raising, and training of your slug as a household companion or for participation in the high-stakes, low-speed world of slug racing and showing.
In addition to being a slug owner, rider, trainer, and breeder, I am a multiple Grand Champion winner of the annual Slug-Fest Rodeo and Riding Competition. As a breeder, my slugs have won a total of eleven “Slug of the Year” championships. I look forward to sharing my love of all things slug with you through this introductory course with chapter content taken directly from my upcoming manual on the subject.
Week 1 – Choosing the Right Slug
This lesson is designed to help the potential slug owner decide if a slug is right for them, what they want in a slug, and where to get a slug.
Week 2 – Bringing Your New Slug Home
Before you bring a slug home and acclimate him to your family, lifestyle, and schedule, you must slug-proof your home and prepare a habitat for the new arrival.
Week 3 – Slugkeeping
Introduction to the basics of daily care and feeding, medical and dental health care, slug evolution, anatomy, and life cycle.
Week 4 – Training Your Companion Slug
This lesson covers basic training for integrating slugs into your home, and trick training, a mental exercise fun for both slug and slug enthusiast.
Week 5 – Breed Shows and Mounted Sports
In this lesson we'll discuss performance sports and includes a transcript from last year’s Slug-Fest Rodeo and Riding Competition.
Week 6 – S.A.L.T. and FAQs
Our final lesson introduces S.A.L.T., the international Slug Association of Lubricious Terrestrials, and answers Frequently Asked Questions.
